25Get a strong signalWhen you are at the start screen (see page 9) or ina call, the strength of the radio signal is indicatedby the signal indicators on the left side of yourphone’s display. These indicators scroll as thesignal strength increases and decreases.To improve your phone’s reception, try moving your phoneslightly. If you’re inside a building, move toward a window.Making a call1 Enter the area code and phonenumber. (Menu changes to Call.)2 Press Call and wait for the otherparty to answer.IMPORTANT!The phone can make and receive calls only when:• It is switched on,• It has a valid SIM card installed, and• It is located in the service area of a GSM 1900 or analognetwork (if using the optional analog module) whereyour SIM card can be used and the radio signal strengthis adequate.Making an international callEnter the + character by pressing twice. Then enter thecountry code, area code, and phone number, and press Call.Adjusting earpiece volumeTo adjust the earpiece volume, press or during acall. If an accessory with its own loudspeaker is connectedto your phone, the scroll keys will adjust the volume for thataccessory.
