CallsYou can make and receive phone calls using a mobilenetwork or a wireless local area network (WLAN). WLANis used for voice calls over the internet. See "Internetcalls (VoIP)", p. 30.Make a voice callYou can make a call in several ways:● Enter the phone number, including the area code,and press the call key.For international calls, press * twice for theinternational prefix (the + character replaces theinternational access code), enter the country code,the area code without the leading 0, if necessary,and the phone number.● To access the call log, press the call key once in thehome screen mode. Select a number or name, andpress the call key.● Search for a name or phone number that you savedin the contacts list.See "Manage contacts", p. 25.You may also use internet telephony. See "Internet calls(VoIP)", p. 30.Make a video callIn a video call, the video recorded with the frontcamera on your phone is shown to the video callrecipient. To make a video call, you must have a USIMcard and be connected to a WCDMA network. Foravailability and subscription to video call services,contact your service provider. The video call can bemade to a compatible phone or an ISDN client betweentwo parties. Video calls cannot be made while anothervoice, video, or data call is active.1. To start a video call, enter the phone number,including the area code.2. Press and hold the call key, or select Options >Video call.3. To end the call, press the end key.During extended operation such as an active video calland high speed data connection, the device may feelwarm. In most cases, this condition is normal. If yoususpect the device is not working properly, take it tothe nearest authorised service facility.Answer and end a voice callTo answer an incoming call, press the call key, or openthe slide. To end the call, press the end key, or close theslide.To reject an incoming call, press the end key. To mutethe ringing tone, select Silence.To answer a call just by opening the slide, selectMenu > Settings > Call > Slide call handling >Open slide to answer > On.17 Calls
