Be aware that theinformation in this section is subject tochange as batteries, chargers, andenhancements change.• BATTERIES ANDCHARGERSYour device is powered by a rechargeablebattery. The full performance of a newbattery is achieved only after two orthree complete charge and dischargecycles. The battery can be charged anddischarged hundreds of times but it willeventually wear out. When the talk andstandby times are noticeably shorterthan normal, buy a new battery. Use onlyNokia approved batteries, and rechargeyour battery only with Nokia approvedchargers designated for this device.Unplug the charger from the electricalplug and the device when not in use. Donot leave the battery connected to acharger after the battery has finishedcharging. Overcharging may shorten itslifetime. If left unused, a fully chargedbattery will lose its charge over time.Temperature extremes can affect theability of your battery to charge.Use the battery only for its intendedpurpose. Never use any charger or batterythat is damaged.Do not short-circuit the battery.Accidental short-circuiting can occurwhen a metallic object such as a coin,clip, or pen causes direct connection ofthe positive (+) and negative (-)terminals of the battery. (These look likemetal strips on the battery.) This mighthappen, for example, when you carry aspare battery in your pocket or purse.Short-circuiting the terminals maydamage the battery or the connectingobject.Leaving the battery in hot or cold places,such as in a closed car in summer orwinter conditions, will reduce thecapacity and lifetime of the battery.Always try to keep the battery between59°F and 77°F (15°C and 25°C). A devicewith a hot or cold battery may not worktemporarily, even when the battery isfully charged. Battery performance isparticularly limited in temperatures wellbelow freezing.Do not dispose of batteries in a fire!Dispose of batteries according to localregulations. Please recycle whenpossible.
