Connect the lead from thecharger to the socket on thebottom of your phone.2. Connect the charger to an ACwall socket.The text Charging is displayedbriefly if the phone is switchedon. If the battery is completelyflat, it may take a few minutesbefore the charging indicatorappears on the display or beforeany calls can be made.You can use the phone while thecharger is connected.The charging time depends on thecharger and the battery used. Forexample, charging a BLC-2 batterywith the ACP-12 charger takesabout 1 hour and 30 minutes whilethe phone is in standby mode.■ Switching the phone onand offTo switch thephone on or off,when the flip isclosed, press andhold the powerkey .To switch thephone off whenthe messaging keyboard is open,press and hold the profile key onthe top right corner of the display.To switch the power on when thephone’s messaging keyboard is openand the phone is switched off, pressthe power key (left selection key) .Note that if the phone displaysInsert SIM card even though the SIMcard is properly inserted, or SIM cardnot supported, contact yournetwork operator or service provider.Your phone does not support 5-VoltSIM cards and the card may need tobe changed.• If the phone asks for a PIN code,key in the PIN code (displayed as****), and press OK.See also PIN code request in”Security settings” on page 49and ”Access codes” on page xi.
