All further letters will appear in lower caseuntil a key is pressed and held once again.Storing information via thephone interfaceTo store names and phone numbers via thephone interface (to enter other contact informa-tion, such as email addresses, use the Contactsapplication):Å Press Memory.Ç Key in the name (up to 30 characters) thatyou want to store with the phone number.For details, see ”Keying in a name” on page13-4.É Press Save.Ñ Enter a 1 plus the area code and phone num-ber. While you might not need long distanceaccess to the number in your home location,you might need it when roaming. If the num-ber is a GSM number or international num-ber, be sure to include +1.If you are storing DTMF sequences and wantto use the DTMF special characters, for apause, press three times quickly, so that ap is displayed. The message SAVED will appear onthe display. The entry will be automaticallysaved in the Contacts directory in alphabeticalorder (numbers will precede letters).Note: A quick way to save text or numbers cur-rently on the display is to press Memoryfor three seconds.Recalling informationYou may retrieve phone numbers and namesfrom memory by the name associated with thephone number or by the speed dial number ofthe Contacts directory entry.To recall a phone number by name:Å Press Memory.Ç Key in the name or its first letter(s).É Press Find. The name closest to the keyed incharacters will appear.Ñ You can move to the next name containingthe same characters by pressing Next, orscroll through the names with or untilyou reach the correct one.To review the phone number stored with thename:Press . If the phone number has been desig-nated a speed dial number, the location numberof the name and phone number is shown in theupper right corner of the display.Dialing shortcutsThe dialing shortcuts provide quick and conve-nient ways to make voice calls.Speed dialingSpeed dialing is a handy way to call frequently-used phone numbers by keying one digit and thekey. You can define up to eight speed dialnumbers in the communicator memory (“B”memory).
