Consider and testthese factors when you plan a BayStack 600 Series Wireless LAN, especiallybefore permanently installing any BayStack access points.Card and Socket Services OverviewThe Personal Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA) hasdeveloped two software specifications governing the use of PCMCIA cards inpersonal computers. The software components that implement these specificationsare called Card and Socket Services. This software supports the ability ofPCMCIA-aware device drivers (known as clients) to share cards, sockets (alsocalled slots), and system resources. Card and Socket Services has a centralizedresource in support of the common functionality required by different clients.Bay Networks recommends that you use Card and Socket Services with theBayStack PC cards.
