Using the BayStack 650/660 Wireless LAN PC Card4-4 203113-BDriver Installation Troubleshooting in Windows NT 4.0Do the following if you have problems loading the Windows NT 4.0 networkdrivers:1. Make sure that the Windows Card and Socket Service is installed on thelaptop.2. Start Windows NT 4.0 with the “BayStack 650/660 Wireless LAN in802.11 Mode” card inserted in the PCMCIA slot (NT 4.0 does not supportplug-and-play service).3. From the Windows taskbar, open Start > Programs > AdministrativeTools (Common) > Windows NT Diagnostics to open Windows NTDiagnostics.4. Select the “Resources” tab.5. Check to make sure there are no resource conflicts. To do so:a. Go to the Control Panel > Network.b. Click the Adapters tab.c. Click “BayStack 650/660 Wireless LAN in 802.11 Mode.”d. Click Properties.e. Resolve any conflicts and restart Windows (if necessary).Resources required are:• A dedicated Interrupt.• A dedicated 40Byte I/O range (e.g. 200–23F).• A memory range of at least 6Kb.6. If other network adapters are listed on the Adapters tab of theWindows NT 4.0 Network properties dialog box, remove them andrestart Windows.7. If “Card Wizard” (or anything similar to Card Wizard) is installed onyour laptop, make sure that the resources allocated for the“BayStack 650/660 Wireless LAN in 802.11 Mode” adapter are identicalto those listed in the properties window for the adapter.8.
