You do not need to remove the servercover to add or replace a hard drive, but you must remove the front bezel.ATTENTIONYou must replace the hard drive with an identical unit or other Nortel-approvedhard drive.To replace a SCSI hard driveStep Action1 Power down the server, unplug all peripheral devices and Ethernetcables, and disconnect the AC power.2 Remove the front bezel. For more instructions, see "Removing andreplacing the front bezel" (page 75).3 Attach the ESD strap to your wrist and attach the other end to aknown grounded connection.4 Press in on the green latch on the front of the hard drive carrier asshown in the following diagram.Figure 21SCSI hard drive carrier5 Pull out on the black lever to slide the carrier from the chassis.6 Remove the four screws that attach the plastic retention device orthe previously installed hard drive to the drive carrier. Two screwsare at each side of the retention device or the hard drive.
