Installing MMR3 - 3Installation ChecklistMake sure that you complete all the following checklist items before beginning theinstallation.Check that your PC hardware and software meets or exceeds minimumrequirements. See Chapter 2 for the minimum requirements list.Verify the Meridian Mail system(s) is configured with AdminPlus Enable option.If you are unsure whether the option is installed, log on to the system’s AdminTools, and run the Display System Record tool. If the AdminPlus Enableoption is not configured, contact your distributor and order a featureexpansion. See Chapter 2 for instructions on how to configure this option.See that the MMR PC is connected correctly to the Meridian Mail system. Referto the “Cabling requirements” section in Appendix A.Know the current configuration of the Meridian Mail system(s), local or remotedial-up numbers, and passwords. See “Changing the AdminPlus Password” inthe General Administration chapter of the System Administration Guide (NTP555-7001-30X) for information on establishing an AdminPlus downloadpassword), release number(s), number of ports, and approximate number ofusers.Obtain the MMR license serial number for software registration. The numberappears in the license documentation accompanying the program and on thelabel of MMR Disk 1.Collect the appropriate manuals for reference during the installation.Ensure that the DOS utility SHARE is running only for Windows 3.1 andWindows for Workgroups before beginning the installation. To check, exitWindows, type SHARE at the DOS prompt, and press Enter. If SHARE isalready running, you are notified by a message. To restart Windows, typeWIN at the DOS prompt and press Enter.Note: You must exit Windows in order for this operation to work.Complete the following steps if you are upgrading from Meridian Mail Release 8with MMR Release 1.0 or 1.01, to Meridian Mail Release 10 or 11 with MMRRelease 2.0. You must make this change in MMR Setup of Release 1.0 or 1.01before installing the MMR Release 2.0 software.
