Managing and Troubleshooting the Versalar Switch Router 150006-10 302768-C Rev 00FT1 loopback detection allows remote test equipment to conduct loopback testingon an FT1 channel or logical line without affecting other logical lines. By default, loopback detection is enabled. We recommend that you perform loopback testing in the following order:1. Test the DS3 interface.2. If there are no errors, test the DS1 interface.3. If the DS1 test results are OK, test the logical line. The following sections describe how to perform loopback detection and testing.Enabling or Disabling Loopback DetectionThe accept-loopback-request parameter for a T1 or FT1 channel determineswhether the software accepts remote requests to go into loopback mode.To enable or disable the acceptance of loop-up and loop-down requests from aremote device, go to the T1 or FT1 prompt and enter:accept-loopback request {enabled | disabled}enabled (the default setting) allows loopback testing to occur so that the T1 orFT1 interface accepts remote requests to go into loopback mode. This option isthe default setting.disabled prevents loopback testing from occurring. To prevent slot 2, connector 1, T1 channel 4 from accepting remote loop-up andloop-down requests, enter:t1/2/1/4# accept-loopback-request disabledt1/2/1/4#Note: The clear channel T3 access service tests the DS3 interface only.
