Managing and Troubleshooting the Versalar Switch Router 150006-6 302768-C Rev 00Clearing Local FDL Statistics for a ChannelTo reset the FDL statistics to 0, go to the T1 test prompt (for example,t1-test/t1-2/1/4) and enter the following command:clear-fdl-stats {no-action | clear-stats}no-action (the default setting) allows FDL statistics to accumulate.clear-stats resets the FDL statistics to 0.The following example shows how to reset the FDL statistics to 0 on slot 2,connector 1, FT1 channel 5:t1-test/2/1/5# clear-fdl-stats clear-statst1-test/2/1/5#Changing ATM PVC OAM ParametersOn the Versalar 15000, Operations and Management (OAM) provides amechanism by which ATM devices can receive prompt notification of permanentvirtual circuit (PVC) failures. OAM uses special loopback cells or alarms to detectPVC failures. These mechanisms decrease the amount of time between an actualPVC failure and when the router is aware of this failure. When using OAMloopback cells, the time can decrease to only a few seconds; when using OAMalarms, the detection is almost instantaneous.Enabling OAM LoopbackTo enable OAM loopback, you must enable loopback on the PVC and define theinterval and thresholds for loopback detection and control. The OAM loopback feature specifies whether or not the ATM PVC sends OAMloopback cells. By default, OAM loopback is disabled. However, you can enableand disable OAM loopback at any time.Note: For OAM loopback to function properly, you must configure it on allPVCs on an interface. Link status is based on the OAM loopback status of allPVCs on the interface.
