Alkaline battery performance is limited,especially at low temperatures. The use of NiMH batteries isrecommended.AA manganese (Zinc-Carbon) batteries cannot be used withthis camera.When operating the camera with battery power at lowtemperatures, try to keep the camera and spare batteriesas warm as possible. Therecommended batteries may be diffi cult to obtain whiletraveling.Please recycle batteries to help save our planet’s resources.When you throw away dead batteries, be sure to cover theirterminals and always observe local laws and regulations.LCD MonitorLCD MonitorDo not push the monitor forcibly; otherwise the image maybecome vague, resulting in a playback mode failure or damageto the monitor.A strip of light may appear on the top/bottom of the monitor, butthis is not a malfunction.When a subject is viewed diagonally in the camera, theedges may appear zigzagged on the monitor. This is not amalfunction; it will be less noticeable in playback mode.In places subject to low temperatures, the LCD monitor maytake a long time to turn on or its color may change temporarily.When using the camera in extremely cold places, it is a goodidea to occasionally place it in a warm place. An LCD monitorexhibiting poor performance due to low temperatures willrecover in normal temperatures.••••••••••••••The LCD used for the monitor is made with high-precisiontechnology. However, black spots or bright spots of lightmay appear constantly on the LCD Monitor.
