4 EN4This camera allows the user to take picturesusing the internal memory even whenno xD-Picture Card (sold separately) isinserted. “Using an xD-Picture Card” (p. 66)“Number of storable pictures (still pictures)/continuous recording length (movies) inthe internal memory and xD-Picture card”(p. 67)To remove the xD-Picture Card1 2Press in the card until it clicks and comesout slightly, and then grasp the card to pull itout.Charging the batteryThe included AC adaptor (F-1AC/with anAC cable or plug-in type) differs dependingon the region where you purchased thecamera. If you received a plug-in type ACadaptor, plug it directly into an AC outlet.The included AC adaptor (F-1AC) has beendesigned to be used only for charging.Make sure that operations such as shooting,viewing images and so on are not beingused while the AC adaptor is connected tothe camera.2Battery lock knobThe battery has front side and back side.Insert the battery in the correct directionas illustrated. If the battery is not insertedcorrectly, the camera does not operate.Insert the battery while sliding the batterylock knob in the direction of the arrow.Sliding the battery lock knob in the directionof the arrow to unlock, and then remove thebattery.Be sure to turn off the camera when youopen or close the battery/card compartmentcover.3 NotchIndex areaInsert the card straight in until it clicks intoplace.Do not touch the contact area on the card.
