25 ShootingZebra patternsWhen you press the button while in mode, a zebra pattern or marker isdisplayed on the viewfinder and LCD monitor, soyou can check brightness of the subject.Portions where over exposure might cause whiteout are displayed in a striped pattern.• Extremely bright area• Reflecting areaWhen you adjust iris and shutter speed in manualmode so that the zebra pattern disappears, you getimages with less white out.Every time you press the button, thedisplay switches as follows.[ZEBRA1] [ZEBRA2] [ZEBRA OFF] [MARKER ON]You can set the level of the zebra pattern withthe [ZEBRA DETECT1] item and the [ZEBRADETECT2] item on the setup menu [DISPLAYSETUP] screen. (Page 89)Also when you set the [ZEBRA DETECT2] itemto [OFF], even though you press the button, [ZEBRA2] will not be displayed.The set zebra pattern is displayed for a fixed time(approximately 2 seconds) as [%].MarkerIf the [Y GET MARKER] item on the setup menu[DISPLAY SETUP] screen is set to [ON], press the button and set [MARKER ON] (Page 25),to display the marker in the center of the screen.You can check brightness near screen center as anumber ([0%]-[99%]).When brightness exceeds [99%], [99%] isdisplayed.99%Image level detection areaImage levelMarkerPress the button again to return to thenormal screen.Checking and displaying shooting status buttonHold down the buttonduring shooting standby or shooting to display allinformation items including the setting status ofvarious shooting functions, and list of functionsassigned to the USER buttons, etc. Release thebutton to return to the normal display.Press the button duringshooting standby or shooting to hide all displaysother than operation status display, frame displaysuch as area, counter, marker, and safety zonedisplay. Press the button again to return to thenormal display.
