52Battery Powerz When the battery pack is not inserted in the computerNOTEz In the following cases, there may be a difference between the remaining batterycapacity displayed on the indicator and the actual remaining battery capacity. Tocorrect this, perform "Battery Recalibration." (Î page 55)• The battery indicator light remains red.• The battery remaining displays 99% and the indicator light is orange for a longperiod of time.• Low battery warning appears after a short period of time.This may be caused by the use of standby mode for long periods of time. Thebattery is discharging while the computer is in standby mode when the AC adaptoris not connected.z There may be a discrepancy between the % value that is displayed on the taskbaricon, and [Power Meter] in [Power Options Properties]. This is not a malfunction.About High Temperature ModeThis computer has a high temperature mode function that prevents the deterioration of thebattery in high-temperature environments or when using the fully charged battery pack for along period of time.To use the high temperature mode function, set [Environment] in the [Main] menu of theSetup Utility to [Auto] *1 or [High Temperature]. In [Auto] mode, high temperature mode or nor-mal temperature mode is selected automatically depending on the battery status (the internaltemperature of the battery pack, etc.) or usage condition (when the AC adaptor has beenconnected for a long period of time).Note that a level corresponding to a 100% charge for high temperature mode isapproximately equivalent to an 80% charge level for normal temperature mode.*1 The default mode.
