However, it is not a malfunction.When using thedigital zoom or whenyou take pictures indark places, the AFarea is displayedon the center of thescreen with a size wider than usual.When multiple AF areas (max. 9 areas)light at the same time, the camera isfocusing on all the AF areas. The focusposition is not predetermined becauseit is set to the position the cameraautomatically determines at the time offocusing. If you want to determine thefocus position to take pictures, switch theAF mode to 1-area-focusing or 1-area-focusing (high speed) mode.If AF mode is set to 9-area-focusing or3-area-focusing (high speed), AF area isnot displayed until the focus is aligned.The camera may detect the subjectsother than a person as the faces.
