This unitsupports CPPM.CPRM (Content Protection for Recordable Media)CPRM is technology used to protect broadcasts that are allowed tobe recorded only once. Such broadcasts can be recorded only withCPRM compatible recorders and discs.DecoderA decoder restores the coded audio signals on DVDs to normal. Thisis called decoding.DivXDivX is a popular media technology created by DivX, Inc. DivXmedia files contain highly compressed video with high visual qualitythat maintains a relatively small file size.Dolby DigitalThis is a method of coding digital signals developed by DolbyLaboratories. Apart from stereo (2-channel) audio, these signals canalso be multi-channel audio. A large amount of audio information canbe recorded on one disc using this method.When recording on this unit Dolby Digital (2 channel) is the defaultaudio.Down-mixingThis is the process of remixing the multi-channel audio found onsome discs into two channels. It is useful when you want to listen tothe 5.1-channel audio recorded on DVDs through your television’sspeakers. Some discs prohibit down-mixing and this unit can thenonly output the front two channels.[EX87] [DVD-A] Tracks that do not allow down-mixing will not playcorrectly on this unit except when connecting with an HDMI cable toan amplifier that meets HDMI standards (Ver. 1.1 or later) and isCPPM compatible.DriveIn the instance of this unit, this refers to the hard disk (HDD), disc(DVD) and SD Card (SD).
