Setti the Channels and ClockAcquiring the setting information from the TV (VIERA)If this unit is connected to a Panasonic TV (VIERA) supporting HOAVIControl 3 via an HOMI cable, then the setting information on the TV isacquired by this unit when the unit is turned on for the first time. Pleaseproceed to the following steps.The following screen is displayed in the language set on the VIERA.- The language setting screen may be displayed depending on the usageenvironment. Press [A, Tl to select language, then press [OK].o Quick Start Function:.. , T to select "On" or "Off",then~a Channel information acquisition:.. , T to select "Set Channelsvia VIERA Link", then ~• Acquires the following information from the TV (VIERA).- The types of transmission- Channel Map- Closed captionWhen the settings are complete, the time confirmation screen isdisplayed.e Confirm the time, then ~- For details of the time information (-+ 13, Tips, Notes)© Tips• If you do not want to acquire thesetting information from the VIERAPress [A, T] to select "Set Channelswithout VIERA Link" or "Set NoChannels with this unit", then press[OK] in step 2.- When connecting the cable from thewall (cable TV or antenna) to the unit'sRF IN:Select "Set Channels without VIERALink".The unit then displays the sourceselection screen (-+ 13, left column,step 6).-When not connecting the cable fromthe wall (cable TV or antenna) to theunit's RF IN:Select "Set No Channels with thisunit".The unit then displays "Set ClockManually" screen (-+ 13, ManualClock Setting).• If "Automatic Clock and ChannelSettings" screen is displayed, thechannel information could not beacquired from the TV (VIERA). Please goto step 5 on page 12.To return to the previous screenPress [RETURN].@ Notes• Acquisition of the setting informationis not supported by all Panasonic TVs(VIERA).• The acquisition may take some timedepending on the VIERA settinginformation.DIGITAL TELEVISION TRANSITION NOTICE (Only for U.S.A.)This device contains a digital television tuner, so it should receive digital over the air TV programming, with a suitableantenna, after the end of full-power analog TV broadcasting in the United States (as required by law) on February17,2009. Some older television receivers, if they rely on a TV antenna, will need a TV Converter to receive over theair digital programming, but should continue to work as before for other purposes (e.g., for watching low-power TVstations still broadcasting in analog, watching prerecorded movies, or playing video games). When a Converter isused with an older television receiver, a signal splitter might be necessary to continue to receive low-power analogbroadcasts via an antenna.
