13EnglishHow to useShaving beard1 Press and shave.• The “shaving sensor”, which automaticallyadjusts the power depending on the beardthickness, will operate.It will shave with high power on areas wherethe beard is heavy, and reduce the power onareas where the beard is thin, to reduceburden on the skin.• The power cannot be turned on when the switch lock lamp( ) blinks, as the power switch is locked.Press the power switch for more than 2 seconds to unlock.(See page 14.)Tips for better shavingApply the whole system outer foilperpendicularly against the skin andshave by slowly gliding the shaver overthe face against the grain of the beard.• The beard under the chin and around thethroat can be shaved better by stretchingthe skin so the beard will stand.• To prevent damaging the system outerfoil, do not shave with only a part of thesystem outer foil.2 Press when finished.While using After useThe used time and remainingbattery capacity are shown andthen turn off after 7 seconds.• The shown time returns to[0’00”] after 10 minutes.• The shaving sensor lamp( ) blinks.The used time and remainingbattery capacity blinkalternately and then turn offafter 8 seconds.When the battery capacity is low“10%” appears and “ ” blinks.• You can shave 1 to 2 times after “10%” appears.(This will differ depending on usage.)Notes• The appliance may not operate in an ambient temperatureapproximately 5 °C (41 °F) or lower.• The shaving sensor may not respond depending on the type andquantity of the shaving gel. This is not abnormal.• Depending on the beard thickness or the amount of beardtrimmings in the shaver head, the shaving sensor may not reactand the driving sound may not change. This is not abnormal.• To prevent erroneous operation, place your fingers on the thumbrest while using the shaver.• The sonic vibration cleaning mode is activated when the powerswitch is pressed for more than 2 seconds while the shaver is notoperating (the switch lock is unlocked). (See page 16.)You cannot shave in this mode.
