General FeaturesFeatures Guide 241Live Call Screening (LCS)*1DescriptionThis is one of the DPT Integration features.Allows the PT user to monitor his voice mailbox while a caller is leaving a message in it. Theextension user can intercept the recording in order to talk with the caller. The voice mailboxcan be monitored in one of the following two ways:Hands-Free ModeWhen a caller starts to record a message, the caller's voice is heard through the built-in speakerof a PT automatically; the extension user can talk to the caller by going off-hook.Private ModeWhen a caller starts to record a message, a notification tone is emitted by the DPT. Theextension user can monitor the caller's voice by going off-hook.Notification ToneTo intercept the call in either Hands-Free or Private mode, press the LCS button.Conditions• Call WaitingIf the extension user is busy on a call when a caller begins to leave a message, a call waitingtone is sent (if programmed beforehand). The extension user can put the current call on holdbefore accessing LCS.• LCS button / LCS Cancel buttonLCS / LCS Cancel button can be assigned to a flexible (CO, DSS) button by Station, Useror System Programming.• LCS Password ClearTo prevent unauthorized monitoring, a 3-digit password must be set by the extension user.If the extension user forgets his password, it can be cleared by the Manager or an Operator.• Recording modeEach extension can be programmed to either stop or continue recording the conversationafter intercepting the recording in order to talk with the caller.• LCS by an SLT (only in Private Mode)A single line telephone, which is connected with a Proprietary Telephone in parallel, canalso be used to monitor a recording message. Be sure that Live Call Screening has beenactivated on the connected proprietary telephone.This feature is useful when you are out with a portable handset of a cordless telephone(SLT).
