Consultyour service provider for details.Caller ID featuresWhen an outside call is received, the caller’sphone number can be displayed.L Phone numbers of the last 50 differentcallers will be logged in the caller list.L While listening to a message recorded bythe answering system, you can call backthe caller without having to dial the phonenumber (KX-TG1822 only; page 50).L When caller information is received and itmatches a phone number stored in theunit’s phonebook:– The stored name will be displayed andlogged in the caller list.– The handset will use the ringtoneassigned to the caller’s category.– The handset will announce the audiblecall recording you made (KX-TG1822only).L If the unit is connected to a PBX system,you may not receive the caller information.L When the caller dialled from an areawhich does not provide Caller ID service,“Out of Area” will be displayed.L When the caller requested not to sendcaller information, either no information or“Private Caller” will be displayed.Missed callsIf a call is not answered, the unit treats thecall as a missed call. The number of missedcalls is shown on the display. This lets youknow if you should view the caller list to seewho called while you were out.Call waiting and Caller IDcompatibleIf you subscribe to Caller ID service, yourhandset displays the second caller’sinformation while talking. After you hear acall-waiting tone, the caller’s phone numberwill be displayed.You can answer the second call, keeping thefirst call on hold. Follow Telstra or yourservice provider instructions using {R}.L If the phone number is stored in thephonebook with its name, the caller’sname will also be displayed.L Please contact Telstra or your serviceprovider for details and availability in yourarea.Using Caller ID type IIWhen you receive a second call during aconversation, you will hear a signal tonefollowing the call waiting tone and theconversation will be interrupted ormuted for a short period of time. This isnot the fault of the product as these eventsare normal.Note:L The tones are generated by the serviceprovider.Category features for handsetphonebookCategories can help you identify who iscalling by using different ringtones fordifferent categories of callers. When addingan entry to the handset phonebook you canassign it to the desired category (page 21).When a call is received from a callerassigned to a category, the category’sringtone you select is used.Changing category ringtonesYou can select a ringtone for each category.If you select “Ext.
