By pressing a soft key, or bypressing the center of the joystick, you canselect the function displayed directlyabove it.L Pressing the left or right soft key selectsthe leftmost or rightmost soft key iconrespectively.L Pressing the center of the joystickselects the center soft key icon.L The functions displayed will varydepending on how you are using theunit.L When a function does not appear abovea soft key, the soft key has no function.Note:L In these operating instructions, soft keynames are written inside brackets, thesame way as other unit keys.Example:Unit keys: {C}, {OFF}, etc.Soft keys: {CID}, {MENU}, {C}, etc.Handset backlit display and handsetkeypadThe handset display and dialing buttonswill light for a few seconds after pressingany of the handset’s controls or lifting thehandset off the base unit or charger. Theywill also light when a call is being received.Setting the unit beforeuseSetting the dialing modeIf you cannot make calls, change thissetting depending on your telephone lineservice.
