*18 Generally, the line mode setting should not be changed. This setting automatically maintainsreceiver volume at the proper level depending on the current telephone line condition. Setthe line mode to “A” if telephone line condition is not good.AlarmAn alarm sounds at the set time for 1 minuteand is repeated 5 times at 5 minute intervals(snooze function). A text memo can also bedisplayed for the alarm. A total of 3 separatealarm times can be programmed for eachhandset. This featureis useful for time periods when you do notwant to be disturbed, for example, whilesleeping. Silent mode can be set for each unit.Using the phonebook’s group feature(page 35), you can also select groups ofcallers whose calls override silent mode andring the unit (Caller ID subscribers only).Important:R Make sure the unit’s date and time settingis correct (page 16).R We recommend turning the base unit ringeroff (page 40, 42) in addition to turning thesilent mode on.
