Using Call Display serviceImportant:R This unit is Call Display compatible. To use CallDisplay features, you must subscribe to a CallDisplay service. Contact your phone serviceprovider for details.Call Display featuresHandset / Base unitWhen an outside call is being received, the callerinformation is displayed.Caller information for the last 50 callers is loggedin the caller list from the most recent call to theoldest.R If the unit cannot receive caller information, thefollowing is displayed:– “Unavailable”*1“Unavailable Name &No.”*2: The caller dials from an area whichdoes not provide a Call Display service.– “Private caller”: The caller requests notto send caller information.– “Long distance”: The caller makes a longdistance call.R If the unit is connected to a PBX system, callerinformation may not be properly received.Contact your PBX supplier.*1 Handset*2 Base unitMissed callsHandset / Base unitIf a call is not answered, the unit treats it as amissed call. The display shows “Missed call”.Note:R Even when there are unviewed missed calls,“Missed call” disappears from the standbydisplay if the following operation is performed byone of the units:– A handset is replaced on the charger.– Pressing MOFFN on a handset.– Pressing MEXITN on the base unit.Phonebook name displayWhen caller information is received and it matchesa phone number stored in the phonebook, thestored name in the phonebook is displayed andlogged in the caller list.Talking Call DisplayHandset / Base unitThis feature lets you know who is calling withoutlooking at the display.To use this feature, you must:– subscribe to a Call Display service of yourphone service provider.– turn this feature on (page 29).When caller information is received, the handsetsand/or base unit announce the caller’s name orphone number received from your phone serviceprovider following every ring.R Name pronunciation may vary. This feature maynot pronounce all names correctly.R Call Display service has a limit of how manycharacters can be displayed. If the caller’s nameis too long, the unit may not be able to display orannounce the entire name.Phonebook name announcementWhen caller information is received and it matchesa phone number stored in the phonebook, thestored name in the phonebook is announced.For Call Waiting Deluxe service usersTo use Call Waiting Deluxe, you must subscribe toCall Waiting Deluxe from your phone serviceprovider.
