42 - ENGLISHMaintenanceTEMP and LAMP IndicatorsIf a problem should occur with the projector, the LAMP and/or TEMPindicators will inform you. Manage the indicated problems as follow.1. Confirm the status of all indicators and projector, and switch offthe projector in proper way.2. Find out the cause of the problem by status of the LAMP and/orTEMP indicators.3. Follow the following instruction for each indication and solve theproblem.4. Turn on the projector in the correct way and confirm theindicator is not indicating a problem any longer.J LAMP indicatorJ TEMP indicatorManaging the indicated problemsNOTE:• If no problem is found or the problem remains, do not turn on the projector. Instead contact an Authorized Service Center.Indicator Illuminating red Flashing redProblem LAMP RUNTIME hasreached 1 800 hours. The lamp circuit failure, abnormal function or lamp unit is damaged.CauseThe lamp unit will runout soon and needs tobe replaced.The MAIN POWER isswitched on againbefore the lamp unit iscooled enough.The lamp circuit failure,abnormal function.The lamp unit isdamaged.Remedy See “Replacing thelamp unit” on page 44.Let the lamp unit cooldown and turn on theMAIN POWER.Contact an AuthorizedService Center.See “Replacing thelamp unit” on page 44.Indicator Illuminating red and still projectingFlashing red and the POWER button is turned offProblem The temperature inside and/or outside the projector is abnormally high.Cause The ventilationopenings are covered.The room temperatureis too high.The air filter isexcessively dirty andthe ventilation is poor.The projector is locatedat high elevations(above 1 400 m).RemedyRemove the object(s)from the ventilationopenings or cleararound the projector.Reinstall the projectorin temperaturecontrolled place.
