70OthersCautions for Use Cautions for UseWhen you use your Camcorder on a rainy orsnowy day or on a beach, make sure that nowater enters the Camcorder.• Water may cause the Camcorder or Cassette tomalfunction. (Irreparable failure may occur.)• If sea water splashes onto the Camcorder, wet asoft cloth with tap water, wring it well, and use it towipe the camera body carefully. Then, wipe it againthoroughly with a soft dry cloth.Keep the Camcorder away from magnetizedequipment (such as a microwave oven, TV,video game equipment, etc.).• If you use the Camcorder on or near a TV, imagesor sounds may be disturbed due to electromagneticwave radiation.• Do not use near a cell phone because doing somay cause noise to adversely affect the picture andsound.• Recordings on the tape may be damaged, or imagesmay be distorted, by strong magnetic fields createdby speakers or large motors.• Electromagnetic wave radiation generated by amicroprocessor may adversely affect the Camcorder,causing the disturbance of images and sounds.• If the Camcorder is affected by magnetically chargedequipment and does not function properly, turn offthe Camcorder power and detach the Battery or ACAdaptor and then connect the Battery or AC Adaptoragain. Thereafter, turn on the Camcorder power.Do not use your Camcorder near radiotransmitters or high-voltage cables.• If you record pictures near radio transmitters orhigh-voltage cables, recorded images or soundsmay be adversely affected.Do not use this Camcorder for surveillancepurposes or other business use.• If you use the Camcorder for a long period oftime, the internal temperature increases and,consequently, this may cause malfunction.• This Camcorder is not intended for business use.When you use your Camcorder on a beach orsimilar place, do not let sand or fine dust getinto the Camcorder.• Sand or dust may damage the Camcorder orCassette. (Care should be taken when inserting andremoving the Cassette.)Do not spray insecticides or volatile chemicalsonto the Camcorder.• If the Camcorder is sprayed with such chemicals,the camera body may be deformed and the surfacefinish may peel off.• Do not keep rubber or plastic products in contactwith the Camcorder for a long period of time.Do not use benzine, thinner or alcohol forcleaning the Camcorder.• The Camcorder body may be deformed and thesurface finish may peel off.• Before cleaning, detach the Battery or pull out theAC Cable from the AC Jack.• Wipe the Camcorder with a soft dry cloth. To removestubborn stains, wipe with a cloth that is soaked ina detergent diluted with water and afterwards finishwiping with a dry cloth.• For storing or transporting the Camcorder, place it ina bag or case lined with soft pads so as to preventthe coating on the camera body from being worn.After use, be sure to take the Cassette out anddetach the Battery from the Camcorder or pullout the AC Cable from AC Jack.• If the Cassette is left in the Camcorder, the tapesags and deteriorates.• If the Battery is left on the Camcorder for a long time,the voltage drops excessively, and the Battery willnot function even after it is recharged. About AC Adaptor• If the temperature of the Battery is extremely high orextremely low, the [CHARGE] Lamp may continueflashing, and the Battery may not be charged. Afterthe temperature of the Battery has decreased orincreased sufficiently, charging starts automatically.If the [CHARGE] Lamp continues to flash even afterthe Battery temperature has decreased or increasedsufficiently, the Battery or AC Adaptor may be faulty.In this case, please contact a dealer.• If the Battery is warm, charging takes a longer timethan normal.• If you use the AC Adaptor near a radio, radioreception may be disturbed. Keep the AC Adaptor3 feet (1 meter) or more away from radio.• When using the AC Adaptor, it may generatewhirring sounds. However, this is normal. After Use1 Take out the Cassette.
