If thebattery pack is left attached to DVD Video Camera,it will consume a slight amount of power.Important Note:It is recommended that you charge the battery packshortlybeforeusing the DVDVideo Camera,usually onthe day before you plan to use it.Since the battery pack used for this DVD VideoCamera is free from the memory effect, you do notneed to completely discharge the battery packbefore charging it.When not using the DVD Video Camera for anextended period:It is recommended that you fully charge the batterypack once a year, attach it to DVD Video Cameraand use it up; then remove the battery pack andstore it in a cool place again.Store in cool place:When you are not using the DVD Video Camera,remove the battery pack and store it in a cool place.If you store it in a place where the temperature ishigh, the battery life will be shortened. Be especiallysure not to store the battery pack in an environment(in a closed vehicle) over 140°F (60°C). Neglectingthis could damage the battery pack.Battery life:Battery life varies greatly depending on the ambientenvironment and how often the DVD Video Camerais used. If the usable time of DVD Video Camerawith a fully charged battery pack is noticeably short,the battery pack is probably dead: Purchase a newone.Power save and discharge of battery pack:It is recommended that you turn the DVD VideoCamera off in status other than recording, sinceeven during recording pause battery power isconsumed at the same level as during recording.If, when you specify Power Save On, the recordingpause status continues for approximately 5minutes, the DVD Video Camera will automaticallyturn off.To set or release power save, see "Turning DVDVideo Camera Off Automatically (Power Save)" onpage 93.44
