8 Mounting into the RackThe CPU unit (WJ-MPU955) should be mounted into therack as shown in the following diagram. Here are the steps:1. Remove the four rubber feet by removing four screwsfrom the bottom of the CPU unit2. Install the CPU unit in the rack, securing it with the fourscrews3. Secure the rear of the appliance to the rack by usingthe additional mounting brackets procured locally if therack is subject to vibrationThe cooling fans inside the CPU unit keep the CPU unitworking properly. They are subject to wear and need to bereplaced periodically. Do not block the ventilation slots onthe cover to prevent the appliance from overheating.Always keep the temperature in the rack below 45 °C(113 °F). Configuration File ModificationThe system configuration file is referred to as the SYS.INIfile. It contains system-wide configuration information, andcan be modified by the operators through an administrationtool. See reference [1].The CPU unit contains default SYS.INI file. (Refer to p.19)The CPU unit should work with the default system configu-ration file set by the factory at the time of shipping. To mod-ify the default configuration file, you can use the administra-tion tool (Admin Console). From the Admin Console mainmenu:• Select CPU Units from the main bar’s Domain;• Select Sys tab from the CPU System Configurationscreen;• Upload the SYS.INI file from the CPU unit using the ‘Getfrom CPU’ button in the SYS Transfer section;• Modify the system configuration file that appears in thedocument area of the window;• Save the system configuration file using the ‘Save’ but-ton in the SYS Archive section;• Download the configuration file using the ‘Put to CPU’button in the SYS Transfer section;• Reboot the CPU unit System DatabaseThe system database contains system devices, systemresources, and system programmable events and automa-tion information. The system administrator can configure thesystem database using the administration tool. The CPUunit contains a default database when it arrives from thefactory.A default database file is also provided on the CD-ROM.The contents of the default database file – 01 = sample.adm– appear in the Default Database Contents section.
