83Chapter 4 Fax ReceptionConvenient Reception FeaturesThis machine supports certain convenient-to-use reception features. Program these features asrequired.Selective ReceptionYour machine has a special feature, Selective Reception, which can prevent receiving of unnecessarydocuments, (i.e. junk fax, direct mail, etc.).Before receiving the document, the last 4 digits of the ID Number received from the sending machinewill be compared with the last 4 digits of the telephone number programmed in each Address Bookstation. When a match is found, your machine will start receiving the document. If a match is not found,your machine will cancel the reception.z The standard setting of “46 Select Receive” is set to “Invalid” in Function Parameters (Fax/Email Settings>Fax Parameters). For instructions on how to enable the selective reception feature, refer to Fax/EmailSettings in the Operating Instructions (For Function Parameters) on the provided CD-ROM.z This feature requires the registration of all possible sending stations in your address book. Refer to Adding aFax Number into the Address Book (see page 165).z Selective reception will not work if the fax number is not set in the sender's numeric ID, or the sender's numericID is not programmed at all.
