It automatically scans for DSU and lineconditions that are not within normal limits. There arethree types of Health and Status reports:• Devic (Device Health and Status) displays thehealth and status for a selected DSU (and DBM andTDM or MCMP, if installed). This report isavailable from the Local or Remote branch.• Expan (Expanded Health and Status) retrievesstatus information relating to automatic dialattempts and abnormal call terminations. TheExpan selection is only displayed if there isexpanded health and status information availableand is accessible from the Local or Remote branch.• Subn (Subnetwork Health and Status) displayshealth and status information for all devices on theDSU’s poll list. This selection is only availablefrom the Local branch and is valid only ifnondisruptive or mixed diagnostics are in effect andADp or DPII protocol selections have been made.All alarm and status conditions are displayed for thespecified DSU at the time the option is selected. For alocal DSU, the alarm and status conditions are updatedevery 2 seconds. For a remote DSU, the alarm and statusconditions are not updated automatically. Note that amajor alarm causes the Alrm status indicator on theaffected DSU to light.To access the Health and Status reports from thetop-level menu, make the following selections:• Local (F1), or Remot (F2) and Address• Stat• H/S• Devic, Expan, or SubnDevice Health and StatusThe Device Health and Status (Devic) selection reportshealth and status information for a selected DSU. Itindicates how long the unit has been operating, whetherthere is any NMS activity to the unit, and whether thereare additional messages.NOTEIf 5 minutes elapse without a keybeing pressed, the Device Healthand Status screen will beredisplayed.The format of the Device Health and Status screen isshown below:F1H/S: hhh:mm:ss → *MessageF2 F3ResultsWhen the DDS circuit is the active link, the first linedisplays a running normal-operation timer (hhh:mm:ss),with a right arrow (→) if there is more than one existingmessage, and an asterisk ( * ) if there is NMS activity.The second line displays the test or alarm message. Referto Appendix C for an alphabetical listing and explanationof the Device Health and Status messages.If there is more than one message, the DCP cyclesthrough the messages automatically, or the andkeys can be used to scroll through multiple messages.F1H/S: 0:15:01DSUTst: LL, FPF2 F3In the example above, the time shown on the first linechanges to show the elapsed time, 15 minutes and1 second. The second line indicates that the DSU is in aLocal Loopback initiated from the DCP (front panel - FP).When a Local Loopback is running, the time shown willbe the time that has elapsed since the Local Loopbackbegan.
