Operation Guide Revision 3.7c©1994 - 2003 Quantec® Tonstudiotechnik GmbH, Munich, Germany96Head ExtensionThe attenuation for the de-emphasis and DC filters is displayed and can be set in this submenuitem.DC and de-emphasis filters raise the level of the audio signal slightly due to the physical principlesemployed in their operation. If the signal is already at the highest permissible level this can lead tooverdrive problems. This would lead to the signal in the positive area which has gone into overdriveappearing again in the negative area and vice-versa. To prevent this, the dB level of the signal isattenuated slightly before it enters the filters, by the attenuation device which is located on the audiopath between the LL input and the GL output, i.e. on the playback path of the external device. Thisattenuation mechanism can be adjusted here.Config Audio DSPHead Xt: 0.0dBPulsar to the submenu item View NS modePulsar to the previous submenu item View DC FilterExit to the main menu item Config Audio DSPEnter save modificationToggle Snoop mode on/offHitting ENTER takes the user to the submenu item Set Head Extension.
