3 ADJUSTMENTSGB-83 ADJUSTMENTS3.1 GENERAL________________________________________________________________1. Adjustments and maintenance should always beperformed by a qualified technician. If properadjustment cannot be made, contact an authorizedTextron Turf Care And Specialty Products Dealer.2. Replace, do not adjust, worn or damagedcomponents.3. Do not wear jewelry or loose fitting clothing whenmaking adjustments or repairs.4. Do not change governor settings or overspeed theengine.3.2 LEVELING DECKS _________________________________________________________If the decks or casters have been removed for service orcutting height appears uneven, it may be necessary tolevel decks. Adjust casters so cutting heights of outerblades are within 1/8” (3 mm) of each other.1. Position tractor and decks on a hard, flat, levelsurface. Position blades parallel to tractor as shown.2. Check that air pressure in all caster tires is adjustedequally.3. Set desired cutting height of deck using the 1/2” (13mm) spacers (E) provided. See Section 3.54. Measure the height from the ground surface to thefront edge (B) of the two outer blades for the wingdecks and the center section of the front deck.Position the 1/8” (3 mm) leveling washers (C) aboveor below caster pivot as needed to obtain an evencutting height across decks. Keep the 1/16” (1.5mm) thrust washers (D) positioned as shown, oneabove and one below caster pivot.Figure 3AWARNINGTo prevent injury, lower implements to the ground,disengage all drives, engage parking brake, stopengine and remove key from ignition switch beforemaking any adjustments or performing maintenance.Make sure the tractor is parked on a solid and levelsurface. Never work on a tractor that is supported onlyby the jack.
