Even if the target devices to which theDominion SX is attached are turned off, you will still be able to access theunit. Can I reset the unit without losing mysettings? There are two ways to perform a basic reset without losing your user-defined settings: (1) Click on the [Reset] button in the left panel of theMain Menu screen, or (2) Switch off power from the unit, and then switchthe power back on. Using either of these two methods, the previouslyestablished IP address and all other user-defined settings will be preserved.Important: Performing a “soft” reset as described above will log all usersoff the unit. Users will be able to access the unit again once the unit’s bootsequence is complete. How do I reset the unit back to itsfactory-default settings? To perform a factory default reset, which will erase all custom settings andre-establish the factory default settings, attach the “factory reset fixture” tothe unit’s 9-pin serial port (located on the back of the chassis), turn theunit off, wait a few seconds, turn the unit back on, and allow the unit tocomplete the factory default reset sequence. This will take about 60seconds. The factory default reset sequence consists of the following: Asolid green light for about 5 seconds, then no light for about 15-20seconds, then another solid green light for about 5 seconds and then 3green flashes (about 1 second each). The total time for this sequence isgenerally about 40 seconds. Users will not be able to access the unit again until the unit isre-configured.Does the unit need to be on the samephysical LAN as the client_hostduring installation and setup?Yes, the unit must be on the same physical LAN as the client_host duringinstallation and setup. There should be no intermediate IP routers betweenthe unit and the client_host during this stage.Once the physical installation iscomplete and my ping query elicits aresponse from the unit, how do Iinitially access the unit and begin theprocess to customize the unit?Open a supported network-enabled web browser (Netscape or InternetExplorer), type “192.0.0.192” in the address line, and press the <Enter>key. You will be presented with the start-up screen for the unit, andprompted through the entire set-up process. Once setup is complete, youwill log off the console, and use the IP address you assigned during set-upto re-access the unit.Once I have assigned the unit a uniqueIP address, how do I access the unit inthe future?Open your supported Web browser (Netscape or Internet Explorer), enterthe IP address you have assigned to that unit into the Address field andpress the <Enter> key.
