See diagram 2. Repeat thisstep for right side.8) Fan Switch wires: Connect the plug endfrom the fan switches to the matching plugfrom the unit. See Diagram 5. Make sure theplugs are pushed together as far as theycan go. Push the connection into the hole inthe side of the insert so it is locked into place.9) ON/OFF wires: Hook up the ON/OFF wiresto the switch on the left side trim. Diagram5.Diagram 3Diagram 4Diagram 5FACEPLATE AND TRIMINSTALLATIONHint: Before doing the faceplate installa-tion, leave the Insert out approximate-ly 4" so wires may be hooked up moreeasily.1) Lay the faceplate panels flat, face down onsomething soft so they don't scratch.2) Take the top faceplate and align the holesin it with the holes in the side panels.Attach, using the screws provided. The switchacts as a safety shut-off to pre-vent a build up of carbon monox-ide. If the flue is blocked or has no"draw", the switch will automati-cally shut off the supply of gaswithin 5 - 10 minutes. Tamperingwith the switch can result in car-bon monoxide (CO) poisoning andpossible death.If the heater turns off because oflack of draft during the spillagetest, check for the cause and ifnecessary, seek expert advice.The thermally actuated safetyswitch will automatically resetafter it has reduced in tempera-ture. The switch will continue tocycle until the draft problem iscorrected. DO NOT BYPASS OR DIS-CONNECT THIS SWITCH.Note: The holes in the top panel are slight-ly larger than the holes in the sidepanel to facilitate easier installa-tion.Hint: Don't tighten the screws down complete-ly at this point, first do a trial fit to the unit. Makeany necessary adjustments and when it fitsproperly then tighten down the screws.4) Place the trim on the assembled faceplatepanels, aligning the wires from the switch-es with the notch in the left side faceplatepanel.The power cord should be run behind thefaceplate panel.5) Push the Regency logo plate into the twoholes in the bottom left corner of the face-plate.6) Secure the brass trim to the faceplate bydrilling a 1/8" hole through into the faceplateside flange, using the hole in the brass trimas a guide. Now fasten with the two brassplated screws provided.7) Lift the assembled faceplate up and overthe top of the insert and then lower it downso the faceplate tabs are in line with thefaceplate brackets. See diagram 3. Onceeverything is properly lined up you cantighten the 4 screws on the faceplatebrackets. See diagram 4.Note: If you are making custom face-plates, you must use the faceplatelouvers. Failure to do so will voidthe certification on your unit. Thefaceplate louvers can be purchasedseparately.
