The flue collar of theappliance will fit inside a standard vent andmay be fastened directly to the vent bysheet metal screw or a B-Vent, single wallvent connector.2) Before pushing the appliance into positioninside the fireplace, align the draft hoodwith the guides on the insert top and pushforward. While pushing the unit back intoplace keep pulling the draft hood forwarduntil the screw hole in the spill tube-rearaligns with the screw hole in the spill tube-front. Iftest pressures equal to or lessthan 1/2 psig are used then thisappliance must be isolated fromthe piping system by closing itsindividual manual shut-off valveduring the testing.Valve Access: Loosen and remove the wing-nuts on the both sides of the bottom louver andthen remove the louver.2) The gas connection is a 3/8" NPT male pipeon the rear left side of the unit. The gas linecan be rigid pipe or to make installationeasier use a listed flexible connector andmanual shut-off valve if allowed by localbuilding codes. A 1/2" gas supply pipe mustbe brought near this inlet hole.3) Locate the center point where the vent willpass through the chimney above the appli-ance. Move the appliance into the exactlocation where it is to be installed. Ensurethat the Insert is level.4) The gas control valve is provided with two"IN" and "OUT" pressure taps, and areeasily accessible for a test gauge connec-tion (see diagram on page 9).5) Once the gas has been connected ensurethat the pilot valve is in line with burner.CAUTION: If the door is removed oropened for servicing, it must be replacedand closed prior to operating the appli-ance. The glass must be fixed in the doorwhen operating.COMBUSTION &VENTILATION AIRWARNING: This appliance needs fresh airfor safe operation and must be installedwith provisions for adequate combus-tion and ventilation air available to theroom in which it is to be operating.Follow CAN/CGA B149 (in Canada) or ANSIZ223.1 (in the USA) requirements, and anylocal codes or regulations of the enforcingauthority.Air for combustion is drawn in through the frontof the unit, therefore, the front of the unit mustbe kept clear of any obstructions.VENTINGTHE APPLIANCE MUST NOT BE CON-NECTED TO A CHIMNEY FLUE SERV-ING A SEPARATE SOLID FUEL BURN-ING APPLIANCE.This appliance is designed to attach to a 4"diameter type B-Vent or double thickness alu-minium flex liner running the full length of thechimney. A minimum flue height of 12 feet isrecommended. B-Vent must be supported by avent support - supplied by vent manufacturer.There must be at least 3 feet of chimney abovethe roof level.Stack the pipe onto your finish support to aminimum height of 3 feet above the roof pene-tration, or 2 feet above any point within 10 feetmeasured horizontally. B-Vent chimneys re-quire a 1" clearance to combustibles.
