Pull Vehicle Belt Acrossto Opposite SideDo not twist belt. Belt MUST bein front of buckle strap.You MUST use the 1st or 2ndbuckle slot. Do not place beltover child’s legs. Buckle vehiclebelt.7. Tighten BeltPlace hand in child restraint.Firmly push child restraint downand back towards the vehicleseat back while pulling shoulderbelt or the free end of lap belt totighten.It may be easier to pull theshoulder belt or the free end oflap belt parallel with the belt paththrough the Easy Access BeltPath panel in pad as shown.8. Check Belt TightnessHold child restraint at the belt pathwith your weakest hand.Push and pull from side to side.It should not move more than 1 in.(2.5 cm).10. Secure Child in ChildRestraintRecheck the level line. Repeatsteps 2-9 if not reclined correctly.NOTE: You may need to placea large rolled towel(s) or foampool noodle(s) under front ofchild restraint to help achieve thecorrect recline angle. Check oftento be sure padding is still in placeand the belt is tight.If it moves more than 1 in. (2.5 cm), you can try:A. Pulling the belt tighter.B. Reinstalling the child restraint.C. Changing to a different seating location.D. Switching to the lower anchor belt installation if loweranchors are available in your vehicle.9.
