C ARE AND MAINTENANCECHAPTER EIGHT : CARE AND MAINTENANCE 8.3Print Cartridge MaintenanceTo get the maximum benefit from your print cartridges:• Do not remove a print cartridge from its packaging until you are ready to install it.• Do not refill a print cartridge. The warranty will not cover damage caused by usingrefilled cartridges.• Store the print cartridge in the same environment as the printer.• If you have an opened print cartridge you are not currently using and do not havean available print cartridge storage unit, store it in an airtight plastic bag. Do notleave it exposed for an extended period.Replacing the Print CartridgeThe print cartridge includes the ink supply and the printhead. Each time you replace theprint cartridge, you are replacing the printhead as well.When you notice that the print becomes light or ‘INK LOW’ appears in the display,replace your cartridge.1.
