120Wi-FiAbout Wi-FiWi-Fi (short for "wireless fidelity") is a term used for certain typesof Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN). Wi-Fi communicationrequires access to a Wireless Access Point (WAP). The WAP caneither be Open (unsecured), or Secured (requiring knowledge ofthe Router name and password).Turning Wi-Fi OnBy default, your device’s Wi-Fi feature is turned off. Turning Wi-Fion allows your device to discover and connect to compatible in-range WAPs.1. From the Home screen, tap Settings Wirelessand network Wi-Fi settings.2. Tap Wi-Fi to activate the feature. A green checkmarkindicates that Wi-Fi is active. The device scans for availablein-range wireless networks and displays them under Wi-Finetworks on the same screen.Connect to a Wi-Fi Network1. From the Home screen, tap Settings Wirelessand network Wi-Fi settings.The network names and security settings of detected Wi-Finetworks display in the Wi-Fi networks section.2. Tap a network.Note: When you select an open network you are automatically connected.3. If required, enter the wireless password and tap Connect.Manually add a new network connection1. From the Home screen, tap Settings Wirelessand network Wi-Fi settings.1. Tap Add Wi-Fi network.2. Enter the Network SSID (the name of your Wireless AccessPoint).3. Tap the Security field and select a security option. This mustmatch the current security setting on your target WAP.4. If the WAP is secured, enter the password.5. Tap Save to store the new information and connect to yourtarget WAP.
