84Sound SettingsYou can use the Sound Settings feature tocustomise various settings, such as the:• ring melody, volume and type.• sounds made when you press a key, receive amessage, open/close the folder or switch yourphone on/off.• alert tone made every minute during a call, whenyou make an error or when your call is connectedto the system.Note: When the phone is in the silent mode (seepage 28), you cannot change the soundsettings.Ring Tone (Menu 4.1)This menu option allows you to select a ringmelody.You can choose between many different melodies.Each time you select a melody, it plays for a fewseconds. If you have downloaded any sounds fromthe Internet or optional EasyGPRS programme, youcan view them in this menu.Ring Volume (Menu 4.2)This menu option allows you to adjust the ringvolume to one of five levels.Use the and keys or the volume keys onthe left side of the phone to increase or decreasethe volume.Sound Settings85Alert Type (Menu 4.3)This menu option allows you to specify how you areto be informed of any incoming calls.The following options are available:Light Only: only the service light flashes; thephone neither rings nor vibrates.Melody: the phone rings using the ring melodyselected in the Ring Tone menu option(Menu 4.1); see page 84.Vibration: the phone vibrates but does not ring.Vibra + Melody: the phone just vibrates and thensaved.Keypad Tone (Menu 4.4)This menu option allows you to select a tone thatthe phone sounds when you press a key.You can choose from Cool, Piano, Tone and Beep.To turn the sound off, select Off.
