RECORDING AREA SET SETTING6 Turn the shuttle dial counterclockwise.The screen changes to show a “WARNING” display. This is amessage to warn you that the hard disk is about to be reinitialized.7 To reinitialize the hard disk, turn the jog dial to display“YES”, and then turn the shuttle dial clockwise.The RECORDING AREA SET screen appears and the recordingcapacities for each area are changed.Note: If you turn the shuttle dial clockwise when “NO” is selected, theRECORDING AREA SET screen appears and the recordingcapacities return to their previous settings. The hard disk is notreinitialized in this case.AREA FULL RESET settingWhen the normal recording area and alarm recording area of the harddisk become full, the images in the recording areas will beautomatically overwritten, starting from the oldest images that havebeen recorded.However, you can change this setting to prevent overwriting of imageswhen the recording areas become full, at times such as when youwant to check or edit the recorded images. In this case you need tospecify each time that you want images to be overwritten in eachrecording area. The following procedure describes the method ofdoing this.1 Set the OVERWRITE setting for the NORMAL RECORDINGAREA or ALARM RECORDING AREA to “OFF” in theRECORDING CONDITIONS SET menu.This setting can be used to display the remaining recording areaof the hard disk on the screen. At the same time, the FULL orALARM FULL indicator at the front of the digital video recorderwill flash.When writing to the hard disk is complete, you can use playbackoperations to check the recordings.2 Use the jog dial to move the cursor to the AREA FULLRESET → setting for the NORMAL RECORDING AREA, andthen turn the shuttle dial clockwise.“NO” flashes on the WARNING screen.3 Use the jog dial to change “NO” to “YES”, and then turn theshuttle dial clockwise.The NORMAL RECORDING AREA is set to single overwriting.4 Follow the same procedure to make the setting for theALARM RECORDING AREA.5 Press the EXIT/OSD button.The display returns to the normal screen.Note:• For overwriting to be carried out automatically, change theOVERWRITE setting for the NORMAL RECORDING AREA orALARM RECORDING AREA to “ON”.• If AREA FULL RESET is carried out, the normal recording area,alarm recording area and archive area will all be reinitialized, and itwill no longer be possible to play back any images that havealready been recorded.THIS CHANGE WILL INITIALIZE THE DISK.ALL RECORDING WILL BE ERASED.ARE YOU SURE ?NOCHANGE WITH JOG.
