Fitting an audio accessorythat is not IS-approved exposes the customer to a riskof explosion which could cause serious injury ordeath. For an up-to-date list of approved audioaccessories, contact your regional Tait office.For detailed information about IS radios and how toidentify them, see "Intrinsically Safe radios andaccessories" on page 10.Audio accessories plug into the radio’s accessoryconnector. The accessory connector is protected by acover, which needs to be removed before anaccessory can be installed.Notice The accessory cover protects the accessoryconnector from electrostatic discharge. Keep thecover in place unless the connector is in use.To remove the accessory cover and install an audioaccessory:1 Use a coin or other blunt object to loosen the screwthat secures the accessory cover to the radio.2 Remove the accessory cover and store it in a safeplace.3 Plug the accessory into the accessory connector.4 Tighten the screw.
