TASCAM CD-A550/CD-A750 438 – Other FunctionsPower-on startThis unit can be set to automatically start playing a CD orcassette tape when its power is turned ON. The unit can alsobe set to automatically start recording to a cassette tape.You can, for example, connect this unit’s power cord toa timer that controls the power supply in order to make itrecord or play automatically at a specific time.1 Load a CD or cassette for playback, or a cassette forrecording into the unit.2 Set the POWER ON START switch to ON.POWRE ON START switch3 Set the MODE switch to the desired position.MODE switchCD: CD playback starts when the power is turned ON.TAPE: Cassette tape playback starts when the power isturned ON.REC: Cassette tape recording starts when the power isturned ON.If using a timer, use it to turn the power to this unit OFF.With this setting ON, the unit functions as set automaticallyas soon as power is supplied to it.Restoring default settingsThe following items can be restored to their factory defaultsettings.All menu items•Repeat playback function (OFF)•Playback time display (track elapsed time)•Text information display (album name)•CD pitch control (OFF)•Program setting (none)•1 When in standard display mode, press the MENUkey on the main unit or the remote control to entermenu mode.2 Use the –/+ keys on the main unit or the remote con-trol to show “DEFAULT?” on the main display,and press the ENTER key on the main unit or theremote control. “SURE?” appears on the display toconfirm that you want to restore the default settings.3 Press the ENTER key on the main unit or the remotecontrol to confirm and restore the default settings.
