Moreover, the unit can load audio filesthat were created by a TASCAM DA-6400/DA-6400dp and meetthe following conditions and play them as is.• File formats: BWF, WAV• Sampling frequencies: 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96 kHz• Quantization bit depth: 16/24-bit• Number of channels: 1CAUTIONTakes with sampling frequencies that are different fromthat set on the REC Fs screen cannot be played back. (See“Setting the recording file format” on page 25.)To play takes with sampling frequencies that are different,change the setting on the REC Fs screen.We recommend that you keep only files with the samesampling frequency together in a folder whenever possible.NOTE• This unit recognizes and groups up to 64 mono WAV filestogether as a single take if they have file names in theformat “[name]_[2-digit channel number].wav”.• If the channel number has one digit, a “0” will be added tothe beginning of the number, resulting in “01” and “02”, forexample.• If the 2-digit channel number is “65” or higher in the nameof a WAV file, it will be recognized as a single take.• If the name of a WAV file does not have a 2-digit channelnumber, it will be recognized as a single take.Preparation before loadingIf an SSD or HDD drive is to be used with this unit for the firsttime, use this unit to format it. SSD and HDD drives formatted bythis unit are optimized to improve performance.Operation of this unit might be affected when using an SSD/HDD that has been formatted by a computer or other device.1. Format the SSD/HDD drive. (See “Preparing SSD/HDD drivesand USB flash drives for use” on page 19.)NOTEWhen this unit formats a drive, it automatically puts a “DAFiles” folder in the root directory.2. You can connect the drive to a computer or other device byswitching the unit to USB connection mode or turning theunit off and removing the SSD/HDD case. (See “Connectingan SSD/HDD to a computer” on page 49.)3. If formatted by this unit, a drive named “DA-6400” should berecognized by the computer.4. Copy the audio files you want to load into folders on theDA-6400 drive.5. When done copying, end USB connection mode ordisconnect the SSD/HDD case from the computer.Using the loaded files on the unit• If they were added to the current folder, audio files that canbe played back will automatically be recognized as takes.• If they were added to any other folder, when that folder isselected as the current folder, audio files that can be playedback will automatically be recognized as takes.
