Updating Mix Moves6.4 Auto Takeover3. Play the recording a comfortable amount of time before the placeyou wish to begin offsetting fader moves. The faders on the TM-D4000 willbe following the mix moves previously written. When a channel is placedinto Update Mode, its fader will stop moving and be represented by thePhysical fader on the automation software screen. The Logical fader onthe software screen will continue to move, reading mix moves andcontrolling the actual volume of the channel.4. As soon as a channel is placed into Update Mode an UpdateReference Point (a small yellow arrow) will appear next to the Physicalfader on the automation software screen. When the physical fader ismoved above the Update Reference Point, you are increasing the level ofpreviously written moves. When the Physical fader is moved below theUpdate Reference Point, you are decreasing the level of the previouslywritten moves.5. When the section needing the relative offset is finished, punching outof update can be done in any of the ways described in section 5.1,Manual Write.· To create a seamless transition from the relative offset to the section ofthe recording that comes after, return the physical fader to match theUpdate Reference Point before punching out. This will also only add therelative offset to the actual edited section of the recording.· If the physical fader is left above or below the Update Reference Pointwhen punching out of Update, then the relative offset will be kept fromthe beginning of the offset until the end of the recording.Auto Takeover is a convenient feature that is used within Update Mode fora seamless transition from the offset to the remaining portion of therecording. With a standard Update it ispossible to offset mix moves above and belowthe Update Reference Point in one pass. WithAuto Takeover enabled the relative offset canonly be added above or below the UpdateReference Point in one pass. The channel willautomatically switch back to Read Modewhen the Physical fader passes back throughthe Update Reference Point.21
