4 Learning moreTASCAM X-9 Owner’s Manual 15The two signals that are controlled by the cross-faderare known as A and B.You can set these to be any of the following using theASSIGN A and ASSIGN B controls below and to theright and left of the program faders:Programs 1 through 4, a sam-pler (SAMP 1 for A, andSAMP 2 for B) or THRU.The THRU setting is equivalentto OFF. In other words, if eitherthe ASSIGN A or the ASSIGN B control is set toTHRU, no signal is assigned to go through the cross-fader on that side, and moving the cross-fader to theside with the THRU setting has no effect on that side.When THRU is selected, use the appropriate programfader(s) and the master fader.Move the fader from the left (fully A signal only) tothe right (fully B signal only) to perform the cross-fade between the two signals.Signal flowThe signal flow is therefore:Note that this is SAMP1for the ASSIGN A controlIncoming signals areassigned to programsPrograms (and samplers)are assigned to thecross-fader A and BsignalsPrograms (andsamplers notassigned to thecross-fader) gostraight to themaster, togetherwith the micThe cross-faderdetermines the A and Blevels sent to the masterThe master outputs(what your audiencehears) |
