19geoTHERM exclusive VWS 0020051614_00 installation instructionsH Danger!Danger of scalding by withdrawingwater!Make sure the discharge pipe ends at asafe point inside or outside the building(safe and visible), where there is no riskof anyone coming in contact with hotwater.A suitable point is, for example, under a fixed gratingabove the trap of a trapped gully. Low discharge pipes, for example up to 100 mm above external surfaces, suchas car and other parking spaces, grasslands etc., can beused, provided they are secured by a wire fence orsomething similar to prevent children from coming incontact with the waste water, and as long as the systemis not visible. No valves or taps may be installed in thedischarge pipe.• Make sure that the drain pipe from the tundish to thedrain has a steady gap of at least 1:200.The discharge pipe from the pressure compensationvalve of Vaillant gas fired wall hung boiler can be con-nected per T piece to the horizontal discharge pipe ofthe domestic hot water cylinder.4.7.5 High discharge pointThe method illustrated in Fig. 4.6 is allowed, providedno-one inside or outside the building is endangered bythe discharge point. The following points, for example, should be taken into consideration for the decision onwhether a place is suitable as high discharge point:– Possibility (considering the impact of wind), thatsomebody is in the range of water that is flowing outand if this is the case, whether the water is alreadycooled down enough such that no danger is posed. The thermal conductivity of the surface, the climaticconditions and the location and alignment of the dis-charge pipe may under certain circumstances have aneffect on the cooling down of the outflowing water– The structure of the windows and other apertures.– The likelihood that a baby carriage could be parkedbeneath the drain.– Resistance of the surface area against hot water.– Possibility of ice formation if water is discharged onthe footpaths.tundish300 mmminimum discharge pipemetal hopperheadFig. 4.6 High discharge connection4.7.6 Drain valveThe drain valve supplied with the geoTEHRM exclusivehas to be fitted in the cold water mains supply betweenthe geoTHERM exclusive and the cold water controlvalves as low as possible.102894 536Abb. 4.7 Control valve and drain valveLegend2 Expansion relief valve3 Pressure limiting valve combined with strainer4 Connection to expansion vessel5 Balanced pressure cold water6 Cold water mains inlet8 Tundish9 Cylinder drain point10 Expansion vesselWe recommand to fit a hose pipe in the outlet of thedrain valve approximately 1 meter below the bottoom ofthe geoTHERM exclusive (This can be acchieved by con-necting suction hose to the outlet of the drain valve).Assembly and installation 4
