Operating Instructions41Dumping the CatcherDANGERDo not mow or dump grass within 5 feet(1.5 meters) of an embankment or retainingwall with drop off.For dumping, the catcher either tailgate dumps intoa disposal area or dumps into the optional dumpbag. The dump bag is a reusable nylon fabric bagdesigned to conveniently move grass clippings fromthe catcher to a remote disposal area or container.CAUTIONUse leg muscles and firm footing when lift-ing the catcher to dump; avoid bending atthe waist and using back muscles to avoidback injury.Tailgate Dumping1. Open the back door by lifting on the door handle.NOTE: When using the optional 6.7 bushelcatcher, a safety latch locks the door open inthe fully opened position while the catcher is be-ing dumped to prevent accidental door closure.2. Tilt the catcher back to dump by lifting on thecatcher lift handle on the lower front corner ofthe catcher.3. Lower the catcher smoothly down to the normaloperating position. DO NOT allow the catcherto drop down.4. Close the door by holding the door handle,working against the spring pressure that holdsthe door closed. DO NOT let the door slamshut by releasing the door before it is closed.(When using the optional 6.7 bushel catcher,close the door by holding the door handle withthe left hand and releasing the safety latch onthe door hinge mechanism with the right hand.The safety latch is released by pressing in onthe top of the latch.)Using the Dump Bag1. Open the back door by lifting on the door handle.NOTE: When using the optional 6.7 bushelcatcher, a safety latch locks the door open inthe fully opened position while the catcher is be-ing dumped to prevent accidental door closure.2.
