When the printer is shared, settings mustaccommodate the common needs of users.Considerations for a networked environment include thefollowing:• Downloading fonts and macros by individual users mayconsume printer memory. The sharing of downloadedfonts must be coordinated. See Chapter 4: Using Fonts,“Downloading Fonts” (page 4-12).• Switching between PCL and PostScript may purgedownloaded data. See Chapter 3: Using the ControlPanel, State Saving (page 3-28) for PCL and State Saving(page 3-37) for PostScript.• Changing settings for Jam Recovery, Page Protection ,State Saving, or Resolution affect memory utilization. SeeChapter 3: Using the Control Panel, “Printer Settings thatAffect Memory” (page 3-69).• The type of interface. (See page 3-38, Appendix A, andAppendix C .)• Auto Job End should be On. (See page 3-44, page 3-48,page 3-54, page 3-58.)• Auto Continue should be On. (See page 3-61.)LANs generally require a system or network administrator, aperson who orchestrates the use of the network.
