VI PDF Originator User’s GuideFreeFlow Variable Information Suite 5.0 (7/2006) VIPO-33When using the Check for File Size Changes option, if very large files are transferred orcopied from a remote location to the watched folder, and the time it takes for the filetransfer to be completed is longer than the current watch interval, the file size changesduring the transfer are monitored and the file will not be picked up for job submission untilfile size growth is not detected within the specified time. You must choose a period of timefor the watch interval, taking this information into consideration:• The file size changes to be detected by the operating system• The speed of file transfer or copyWhen the Check for File Size option is active, files may no longer be picked up andsubmitted for processing when found at every watch interval. The effective submissionrate is based on the file size check threshold as well as the watch interval. Even for smallfiles, job submission takes place after the threshold is reached, assuming the watchinterval is smaller than the threshold time.A very small threshold (for example, five seconds) can be used for very small files, butfor large files this might not be long enough; change the threshold accordingly.Command line options for the VIPO Watched Folders ClientThe VIPO Watched Folders Client has two command parameters:v2vwatch autostart noshowThese parameters are optional and can appear in any order or case on the command line.• autostart — the VIPO Watched Folders Client will start watching foldersimmediately.
