IPDS User Guide 3- 13Using Xerox FreeFlow® Print Server IPS ManagerStacking, the system directs output to suitable bins as determinedby an internal selection mechanism. If Unload While Run is supported by the printer, Printer SpecifiedStacking allows you to unload one bin while the printer continuesto deliver sheets to another bin.Mapping the IPDS Output Bins to Physical DestinationsThe print server sends a list of available IPDS bins to the host. The maximum number of virtual bins permitted is equal to thenumber of physical stackers in the system. The IPS Managerallows you to select which of the existing physical stackers map towhich of the specific virtual bins. This mapping is included in theJob Profile. Many print engines have a number of output locations that may beused during the course of a job. In addition to stackers, outputlocations may be top trays, DFA devices, bypass transports, etc.Stacker mapping allows the host application to direct pages tospecific output locations on a sheet-by-sheet basis by associatingvirtual bins recognized by the host with particular output locationson the print engine. To map the bins to stackers:1. Open [IPS Manager] Stacker Mappings tab.2. For each virtual Bin used by the host application, select thepull-down menu on the Output Location column entry for thebin, and select the appropriate Stacker or Group.3. Select [Host Specified Stacking] from the pull-down menu.4. Select [Save & Apply] to save your settings and apply themimmediately or select [Save] or [Save As] to store yourchanges in an existing or new Job Profile for future use.Creating Stacker GroupsXerox FreeFlow® Print Server allows the user to define stackergroups by name so that they can be referenced both from theQueue Manager / Job Manager GUI, as well as from the IPSManager GUI.Stacker Groups allow multiple destinations to be assigned to avirtual bin. This allows the job to switch between the differentassigned destinations improving throughput and allowing theoperator to unload the stacker while the job continues to bedelivered to another destination. This is similar to PrinterSpecified Stacking but the difference is that the system will onlyswitch among the stackers in the group rather than among allenabled stackers.Stacker Groups are created in the print server Printer Manager, under Stacking. Select [Create Stacker Group] to create a newgroup or right click on a group and select [Properties] to changethe stackers within an existing group. After a stacker group is
